Kids need to do things like roughhousing. This is super important for developing many things in both physical activities, and in mental development.
When it comes to physical development, the playing around is great for getting kids to move, so it’s all the physical activity. The more kids play, the more exercise they have, because it’s fun!
Next, the social activities. When kids play, and roughhouse, they learn give and take. If a kid roughhouses with another, and is playing too hard, then the other kids will not play with them. If they play so another person doesn’t get hurt, then the game gets to continue.
The other part of this is the kid has to let the other kids win occasionally. If they win all the time, then the other kids don’t want to play as they never win. They have to learn that sharing lesson. When they can share, and let the other kids have fun too, that lesson is super important for kids.
These lessons come through the roughhousing and is hard to find in other places. This comes many times from fathers, but we also do a large amount of this through martail arts as well!
