Received Hap-Ki-Do Black Belt June 1, 1999
Ken was the youngest person ever outside of Korea to ever achieve this rank. At Age 13 Ken Sumner received his first degree Black Belt. Also Hap-Ki-Do does not have junior blacks, so this is the same Black Belt as all other adults

Canadian National Sport Jiujitsu Champion, 2002-2004

Won the Canadian Sport Jiujitsu Championship three years in a row. Sport Jiujitsu is similar to MMA but with a Gi on.

Tiger Balm International Karate Sparring Champion 2002, 2004, Runner Up 2003

The Tiger Balm International is a yearly tournament in Vancouver. With large numbers of competitors from Canada and the United States, this tournament is also a qualifier for Team Canada. Ken Sumner was the first choice for that team in 2002 and 2004.

 

Alberta 2012 Submission Series Champion Heavyweight The Submission Series is a Yearly event held in Alberta. Competitors gain points through No-Gi tournaments throughout the year, then are seeded and compete at the year end tournament. Ken Sumner won the final tournament by submission against a huge wrestler.
